Halloween has arrived at Legoland Discovery Centre Manchester | Review

Legoland Discovery Centre Manchester is a great place to take kids, whether they already love LEGO or not. There’s loads to do and plenty of fun for the whole family. Right now, it’s even more exciting because everything has a spooky Halloween twist running until November 2nd. We visited last week, and here’s everything you need to know about Halloween at Legoland Discovery Centre Manchester.

Halloween at Legoland Discovery Centre

Legoland Discovery Centre have gone all out this Halloween with additional activities that add a spooky (but not scary) element to your trip. All the additional activities are included in your standard ticket price too which is great.

Halloween decorations

Everywhere we looked there was the addition of Halloween decorations, from giant spiders on the ceilings to monsters taking over the LEGO buildings in miniland. It really gets you in the mood for Halloween fun as soon as you walk through the door.

Scarevenger Hunt in Miniland

On arrival you will be given the option to take a free scavenger hunt form, this allows you to hunt for Halloween Monsters in the brilliantly decorated Miniland and mark them off on your sheet. Some are really easy to find but a couple are a bit harder so your child might need a little bit of help but we found tis was great for getting the children to explore Miniland for longer than they normally would and really appreciate all the little details that go in to it.

Pumpkin building

There are specific LEGO building stations set up where you and your children can free build, however you are invited to build pumpkins for the Halloween spooky garden or other Halloween related items for the scare wall, if you’d like too

Lego build to take home

As well as the free build areas where your builds must stay in Legoland you are also given the opportunity to pick from 3 Halloween models that you can not only build but also take home with you. This was great as thye were easy enough to build, even for the youngest (5), but it also felt like a nice treat to be able to take home a souvenir and something they were proud of having built it themselves. You can pick from a ghost, a spider and a Frankenstein, all come with easy to follow instructions too.

Watch the 4D Halloween Movie – The Great Monster Chase

The 4D movies are always a great hit at Legoland Discovery Centre but this month you can watch a Halloween special, The Great Monster Chase. We all loved the movie and the kids were especially impressed with the wind and water special effects.

Top Tip – if you don’t want to get wet sit on the outside seats

Character meet & greet at the dance party

At set times during the day you will have the opportunity to meet the Halloween character mascots, enjoy a dance party with them and then pose for pictures.

Trick or Treating

There is also an interactive trick or treat station where your child can spin the wheel and if it lands on Trick they get a black LEGO piece and if it lands on Treat they can choose a sweet – very popular with the kids?

Overall Review

Overall we had a brilliant time. You are given a 4 hour time slot when you book and we certainly filled every minute of this having fun, in fact we easily could have stayed longer. Along with all the Halloween activities we really enjoyed the two rides, climbing wall and racing car building sections too.

If you are a fan of Lego then it is definitely worth visiting again even you’ve been recently as the Halloween extras are great and if you’re not mad about LEGO but want some Halloween excitement then it is still a top choice as nOt everything is about building, there is soft play, bikes and cars, rides and a climbing wall too.

Tips to get the most out of your trip:

  • Book your slot in advance to get the best price
  • Check the schedule when you arrive, make a note of times for shows, meet & greets, and special activities.
  • You can take your own food and drink to keep costs down too
  • Book a double ticket with Sea Life Centre and make a day of it
