Deva Fest is a family friendly festival that takes place in August with the most beautiful back drop, the Cholmondeley Castle. It was first launched as a pilot in 2018 and has been growing in popularity ever since and this year we finally got round to seeing what all the fuss was about. Here is what we found out…
The Deva Fest takes place over 4 days with the option to camp on site, or like us, you can just book day tickets instead but no matter whether you’re staying for the duration or just one day your tickets are great value for money as they not only include access to all the stages and lots of live music but also unlimited goes on the rides, which if you’ve been to festivals before you will know these can easily be £5 per person per ride making this an amazing offer.
As well as music and rides you will also find a number of additional activities including comedy shows, children’s entertainment, dog shows, water sports and a wellbeing area (some have extra charges). This festival is really geared up for families with lots to see and do as well as an eclectic range of music and dance shows.
Our Review: Sunday at Deva Fest 2025
We arrived at mid day just as the festival was gearing up and we were surprised how much parking was still available within a reasonable walk to the main festival area, I had been worried we would need to walk miles with small kids but luckily that wasn’t the case at all.
As soon as we entered I was blown away by the setting, lakes to the right, views for miles and of course the show stopping castle up head, simply beautiful.

As soon as we had our wrists bands on and we’d added the extra safety band (free of charge) to the youngest, which we highly recommend everyone does just in case they do wander off, we headed to the rides. There was a great mix of rides for all ages and the fact they were unlimited was a game changer as I didn’t need to monitor how many times the kids were going on or worry about having to say no.
Once we were suitably sick and dizzy from all the spinning we headed to the main stage and relaxed in the sun with a drink watching the live bands, which was a great atmosphere.
Once we (I) had recovered from the rides we set off exploring again and headed to the gardens and castle for a walk. It’s crazy to think you can find this much beauty and calm in the middle of a festival!
From here we went in search of some activities and we were not disappointed. There was so much to choose from with something happening everywhere you looked.
The highlights
The kids loved trying their hand at circus skills, from juggling balls to hoola hooping, baton twirling to step fun and even spinning plates, there was so much equipment to choose from and help was on hand should they need it.
They even had a go on an aerial swing which was also included in the price. As you can imagine there was quite a queue for this but it was worth the wait as it was one of the highlights of the day for my daughter.
We also enjoyed having a poo party in the Chester Zoo tent were we got to, play games, learn about animal poo and dance with glow sticks.
Later on they played the drums in one of the smaller tents and spent ages running and jumping on the inflatables too.
As massive animal lovers my kids also loved watching a dog show and meeting a recently rescued dog called Britney who gave the best cuddles!
After all the activity of the day we ended it with some more music and a delicious pizza.
Overall we would say that Deva Fest is great value for money especially if you have kids that love rides. There is so much going on and most things are included in the price and what’s great is that it is definitely geared up for families and feels very safe and secure in a beautiful setting.
Next year we are planning on returning and hoping to spend the weekend camping there too, so if that isn’t testament to our trip then I don’t know what is.
