A couple of weeks ago we were very kindly sent the Studio Creator Video Maker Kit to try out. Now normally we are sent things that either excite me, like books, beauty products or coffee or items that excite the kids like games, toys and chocolate but the studio creator video maker perked the interest of both the boys and myself and I have a feeling I am going to have to either share this one with them or hide it altogether! Which is pretty much everything you need to make your own amazing videos, hence the excitement. The boys are thinking YouTube fame and I’m thinking record hands-free Instagram stories without my messy office on show. With this kit the possibilities are endless you can film small or long videos hands free using the adjustable tripod and with the 3 lights on the light ring it doesn’t matter what time of day you film or take pictures you can make sure you always have great lighting, which is perfect for me as I am often photographing products in the evenings when the light is rubbish.

Is the studio creator video maker kit easy to use?

Yes! We set about unpacking the equipment and with Reece reading me the instructions we managed to set it up in a matter of minutes.The only thing you need to do that takes any time is to download a green screen app on to your phone as this allows you to access loads of unique custom backgrounds, perfect for making your own video tutorials or other content. The studio creator video maker kit does recommend one in the instructions but there are loads to choose from and it may be that you try a few and see which one you like the best.

The kit itself is also very easy to use and the fact the tripod is adjustable and moveable means you can quickly make adjustments to find the best angle in front of the green screen.

What is the quality like?

Once we had it all set up and had downloaded a green screen app we set about having a play around with it. We found that the green screen was great for pictures and you can have so much fun changing up the background and pretending you are anywhere in the world.

However, when we were making our own videos we found the green screen was a bit temperamental and every now and then you would get glimpses of the green of the screen coming through our chosen design. Now obviously this isn’t a massive problem if you are using this to make a fun video content with your kids but if you intend to use this for a more professional video making situation then you may need to try different apps.

We loved the fact that the ring light had different color modes and a dimmer switch as it meant could be even more creative and have lots of fun with our picture and videos.

The tripod itself is also easy to extend and and the adjustable smartphone holder feels sturdy and can be adapted to hold different phones, we used it with three different phones with no issues.

Overall the quality of the equipment is very good, the extendable tripod is sturdy and the green screen sheet itself is thick and doesn’t feel like it could rip easily so I would be happy for the boys to use it unsupervised.

Overall we found the studio creator video maker kit to be lots of fun and we would definitely recommend it for kids. It is very versatile and could be used to make some great photo booths at kids parties as well as helping them get creative with homework and experiment on social media making their own original content. We also found it to be fantastic value for money, easy to use and lots of fun. If you have a TikTok mad child or a gaming lover that plans on breaking into YouTube and following in the steps of their favorite influencers someday then yes I would recommend it as this would make the perfect gift for them and it’s really reasonably priced at £24.99 on amazon.
