Pow Food at Home Meals | Review

Pow Food, originally known for luxury workplace and event catering in London, has now launched an At Home range so you can sample their meals and snacks in the comfort of your own surroundings. This At Home range includes a selection of frozen meals, some of which we were very kindly asked to review. Below you can find out everything you need to know about Pow Food, their At Home range and our honest review.

Pow Food

Pow Food was founded in 2017 by mother and daughter duo. It was designed to bring tasty, nutritional and sustainable food to the workplace for employees to enjoy as part of their working day instead of just grabbing something tasteless and unhealthy as they worked through yet another lunch break. All the Pow Food melas had an emphases on clean ingredients, allergen-conscious menus, and wellness-focused offerings and were hugely successful. Unfortunately 2022 gave us covid and as the offices shut down the need for office catering slowed down too and so Pow Food developed their At Home range which is still going strong today, along side their work place catering which welcome back to the offices of London post covid.

Our Review of Pow Food

We were sent the New Summer bundle which consisted of

  • Thai Green Chicken Curry
  • Thai Red Tofu Curry
  • Chicken Paella
  • Fire Cracker Chicken Thighs
  • Spanish Style Prawns

I found that the meals were delivered on the day they were expected and they were well packaged and still completely frozen. On first inspection I was confused by the portion sizes as on the back it has as two sets of nutritional value based on the size but then there is no indication on each one what size or weight they are so we had to hope they were individual portions!

When it came to cooking the Pow Food meals we found that they cooked well in the microwave and did not taste like microwave meals at all, they were delicious. My personal favourites were the Spanish Style Prawns and the Chicken Paella, both of which had a very generous portion of chicken/prawns which was impressive.

We would highly recommend the Pow Food At Home range to anyone who wants nutritional, chef style, meals at home as they are very tasty, convenient and healthier than most other microwave meals, however it is important to point out that these are high end meals with a higher end price tag of approximately £9 per meal but if that is within your budget then these are definitely worth trying.
