Bella + Phoenix Eco Friendly Kids Clothes | Review

Sustainable, eco-friendly, fashion is becoming more and more popular with people wanting to move away from fast fashion and instead invest in fewer items that are well made and have a better impact on the environment. This is an area that has really caught my attention recently and as a family we have been looking at different brands that specialise in eco friendly clothing. So far we have looked at Kookoo But Kind that have a keen interest in endangered animals and Frugi who create not just baby and children’s clothes but also adults clothes as well as home wear items too. This week we have been reviewing a couple of items from Bella + Phoenix who create children’s clothes in sizes 3 to 11.

Bella + Phoenix

Bella and phoenix was created by  Debbie Turrell, a Sussex based graphic designer/illustrator and mum of two who was inspired y inquisitive children.

The main focus at Bella + Phoenix is to create clothing that is educational, eco friendly and good for the environment. This unique take on clothing has resulted in the Tee of knowledge. A range of clothing that is designed around some really interesting careers such as marine biologist and palaeontologist. The designs are simple but effective and available in an array of colours. Each item also comes with a pocket sized field guide that explains what the career in question is and then lots of fun facts related to that topic.

What makes Bella + Phoenix eco friendly?

To ensure Bella + Phoenix are as environmentally friendly as possible Debbie has used the following:

organic cotton

recycled polyester

eco friendly water based inks.

She has also ensured that all the packaging is recycled and 100% biodegradable as well as making sure the pocket books are printed on 100% recycled paper and that they are compostable.

Our review of Bella + Phoenix

We were sent two items from the marine biologist range, a jumper and a T-shirt. Both items are soft to the touch and look and feel well made and more importantly made to last. The designs are fun and bold and also eye catching. The jumpers are £32 and the T-shirts are £24.

My son chose the items himself and was really impressed with them when they arrived. He likes the unusual shade of the olive jumper and thinks the octopus is pretty cool.

If you are trying to  be more eco friendly with your shopping and want to move away for fast fashion and instead invest in pieces that are made to last then I highly recommend you have a look at the Bella + Phoenix website as they have some lovely stuff. I, personally, have my eye on the entomologist jumper in pink for Layla once she is big enough.
