I have written about Liverpool a few times because it quite simply is one of my all time favourite cities, which is helpful seen as though it is only 40 minutes up the road from us. I love Liverpool mainly for it’s diversity, there is literally something for everyone with so much choice from family days out, couple retreats, shopping trips and nights out, not to mention their abundance of cultural festivals and museums.
Most of our trips to Liverpool have been with the children although we have also enjoyed the odd night out child free there too but one of the things I love is that most places in Liverpool, especially in and around Liverpool One, is that the bars are child friendly and most have a children’s menu with food as well as mocktails aimed specifically at them.
One of our favourite bars in Liverpool One is the Bierkeller, which we visited for the first time last year and loved. We were made to feel welcome as a family from the minute we entered and noticed that there were a number of other families there too. The Bierkeller is a German bar which means that the menu is made up of German foods which I thought would be a problem for our picky eaters but instead they loved their choices and have since asked to go back. The Bierkeller is split into different sections, a family friendly bar with TV screens, an outdoor area, a games area which is aimed more at adults and also a party room. When we visited we were lucky enough to experience one of their themed events which was a Harry Potter screening complete with full decorations, Harry Potter snacks and drinks and of course a screening on a massive screen. For so many reasons we love the Bierkeller and it got me thinking…
What other bars in Liverpool are worth a visit?
and so I asked around and these are the recommendations I was given….
Nicola from Mummy to Dex said “Our favourite bar is Rigby’s on Dale Street because it has a lovely outside seating area which is fab in the summer when they screen the football, friendly staff, great beer on tap including Estrella and does amazing food too.”
According to Charlie from Our Altered Life “Revolution on the docks is great by day for tasty well priced food and comes alive at night with music and cocktails. A great place to visit any time of the day.”
Laura Jane from Can’t Buy Your Style recommends “Sound. Is is tremendous fun, does a whole host of events and activities and the owners are sound. They also do cracking pizzas”
and finally Natalie from Hello Cuppies “Really loved the Titanic as the cocktails were amazing! My boyfriend and I were there to watch the football and the opposing team (Dortmund) all came through and sat in the bar. It turned out to be an amazing game and win for Liverpool!”
So there you have it, 5 of the best bars in Liverpool as suggested by those who love Liverpool as much as I do.
