Valentines day is just around the corner, the day for love, romance and, of course gifts. So the big question at this time of year is what do you buy your valentine? Well, just in case you are sitting there pretty stumped I have some gift ideas that will hopefully inspire you and impress your other half this valentines day. Failing that you can make it up to them with some valentines activities instead.
Wine and chocolate
Wine and chocolates are always a good idea, however sometimes they can look a little predictable, especially if you opt for some last minute purchases from the corner shop. So why not go traditional with wine and chocolates but show them you planned it in advance by ordering chocolates that come in a personalised box as well as a personalised wine box that you can fill with their favourite bottle of red, white, rose, or even bubble. These personalised gifts are from Vanilla Reindeer and come complete with picture and text which you can use for a special message or romantic verse.
If you are buying a valentines gift for someone who has everything then why not think outside of the box, or better yet outside of the world for their gift. I’m talking about going big with a statement gift and naming a star after them. A star for your star, romantic and beautiful and a great excuse to go late night star gazing together too. Despite being a gift that is quite literally out of this world the price is surprisingly affordable at only £11.99 from Find Me a gift.
If you are thinking about gifting your Valentine jewellery this year then head over to Xander Kostroma to have a look at their stunning handmade jewellery collection. I personally love their black obsidian pieces which are believed to block negative energy and enhance strength. There are a number of pieces in this range with a choice of metals too, including the gold tone black obsidian chunky hoop drop earrings that would make a lovely Valentine gift on their own, or even better when teamed with the gold tone black obsidian delicate drop necklace. All of Xander Kostroma’s jewellery come beautifully grift wrapped and then protected further in a small black pouch.
ARRAN beauty products
ARRAN sense of Scotland have created some beautiful bath and body products over the years, really luxurious with incredible scents and this Glen Rosa body care gift set is perfect for Valentines day. The set contains a 200ml body lotion and a 300ml bath and shower gel with the sensual fig and ylang ylang fragrances it is warm, sweet and delicate, perfect for your valentine.
If you ask me books make the perfect gift for every occasion. So if your valentine is a book worm like me then they are sure to appreciate a new read or two. If you know their favourite author or genre then you can play it safe and order the newest books in this series, assuming they haven’t already treated themselves to it or you can go for something a little bit different, a new author for them to try. One book that I can recommend and that I think will capture the interest of many is Rock N Roll Nanny by Sally Arnold. This memoir tells the story of how Sally went from a nurse to the nanny of Mick Jagger’s daughter in 1971 and then found herself in a world full of celebrities and royals.
If you are wanting to treat someone to more of a story than a memoir then how about the 1st book in the Villains series: The Fixer by Lee Winter. The fixer is a lesbian romance filled with intrigue, humor, and heart. Perfect for Valentines day.
A Red Letter Day voucher
Why not combine your gift with a date and pick something you can do together. With red latter days this can be anything from a romantic night away to race track driving, there really is something for everyone. The great thing with the Red Letter days vouchers is that if your recipient does love what you picked they can exchange it online for a different experience so it will never go wasted. If you need some inspiration for Valentines day then I suggest something special like a two night break for two in the nest tree house, Champagne afternoon tea for two at Harvey Nichols or tickets to a west end show.
If you are looking for a thoughtful and romantic gift then the A5 love books from Isla and Boe are just what you need. These ‘How I Met Your Mother’ or ‘How I Met Your Father’ hardback, spiral bound scrap books are great for getting creative. They contain 25 blank pages for you till with all the lovely memories you have of your Valentine from fist dates to special occasions. You can write little messages in their, stick in some pictures or even attach old tickets, receipts or leaflets from some of the places you have been together. You can complete the book if you like or even leave a few pages blank so that you can finish the book together over the next coupe of years. These books are bound to leave your Valentine speechless this year.
