Halloweenville at Partridge Lakes Warrington

Halloweenville is an immersive, engaging Halloween themed light trail that loops around the lake. It is aimed at families and although it is Halloween themed and takes place at night it is important to note that it is more of a spooky activity rather than a scary one and therefore is perfect for families with younger children.

Alongside the trail itself you will also find

  • live entertainment
  • food trucks
  • a bar
  • marshmellow toasting
  • Trick or treat fun fair themed games

Review of Halloweenville

This is our third year celebrating Halloween season at Partridge Lakes and one of this things I love the most is that no two years have ever been the same. Each time we go there is a different theme and noticeable changes to improve the overall experience for families and as a result this year was our favourite one yet.

As with previous years the light trail takes place around the lake with a clearly marked path so no one can deviate or get lost. What was different this year however was that there was a very clear story line with a specific quest that children had to complete with 6 different interactive stations marked out on the trail. A much more polished version of last years story trail.

The first section is a welcome show of sorts where the characters invite you in, explain all about the terrible situation they’ve found themselves in and ask the children for help. The children are then gifted a treasure chest (that they can keep) and asked to collect 5 gold coins.

This was a fantastic way of getting the children engaged from the start and really gave some purpose to the light trail instead of just looking and admiring the decorations.

From there you wonder through the fabulously decorated woodlands with something at every turn from flashing lights to giant webs, ornaments to graves and all sorts in between.

Along this walk you will meet an additional 5 characters all with interactive stations and stories to tell. Each one captivates you with their story and asks you do something in order to get your gold coin, this could be hop on one leg, tell a joke or cast a spell. Lots of fun for kids and not at all scary.

The actors were incredible at staying in character and encouraging everyone to get involved, talking to those that wanted to chat and still ensuring that all children got their gold coins even if they were too shy or scared to join in.

Once you have all the coins you are shown to the tavern where you can enjoy fair ground style games with the pirates to win chocolate coins, think hook a duck and throw a bean bag in the whole. Again the cast were amazing, they stayed in character throughout and always ensured that some magic happened so all children won at least one gold coin.

The tavern is also a great meeting point if you have gone with friends or family as you can purchase food and drink and toast marshmallows’ whilst soaking up the stratosphere and enjoying the lights dance across the lake before heading home.

Overall we had a wonderful time. We think the Halooweenville is the best Halloween Trail Partridge lakes have put on so far and think it is particularly brilliant for children under the age of 10.
