You may remember back in August I wrote a post about how we were going to give TREADS school shoes a try this year. Well Connor has now been wearing them for 4 months, they have lasted one full term and they are still going strong as we head in to the second, which I am really impressed with as by now we are normally on our second pair at least.

I have no idea if it is the same for girls but my boys seem to go though school shoes so quickly. We have tried numerous brands, tried expensive ones and cheaper ones, trainer like shoes as well as more formal shoes and yet we still seem to go through at least 3 pairs each school year, sometimes more. I don’t necessarily think my boys are any less careful with their shoes then other children but they do wear them 5 days a week for at least 6 hours a day, climb everything they can and play football at every opportunity, which usually explains why the toes go first, quickly followed by the soles on every pair they have.
Connors TREADS are still going strong. As you can see from the picture below there is some wear and tear by the toe however due to the fact that they are made using hard-wearing components which are more commonly used in industrial safety footwear the damage is a fraction of what I would normally expect and as of yet there are no holes for him to poke his toes through or sagging soles for him to flap about!
After 4 months I am impressed and will most likely be turning to TREADS for next years shoes as well which is why I think this competition is brilliant.
