Science mad! have created some incredible STEM sets that encourage children (and adults) to learn through hands on fun, experiments and exploration. There are a number of sets in the range including a rock tumbler and a metal detector. We were lucky enough to be sent a set of the Science Mad! night vision goggles to review and we also have a pair to give away to one lucky reader too!
Science Mad! Night Vision Goggles
The Science Mad! night vision goggles are aimed at those aged 6 and over. They are prices at £17.99 and are available from Amazon. The set contains the goggles plus an instruction manual. They do require 3 x AAA batteries that are not included so if you haven’t got any then best to grab some, especially if buying as a gift as there is nothing worse than a child opening something and being super excited to try it out only to realise, they have to wait to get batteries!
The night vision goggles themselves come ready to wear with an adjustable strap which is great as it means they can be used by children of all ages (or head sizes) plus the adults can have a go too! They are super easy to use and have blue tinted lenses and bright LED light beams that enable you to see in the dark. They also have a flip out scope with 2x magnifying lenses that make it even easier to focus on specific items and see them in more detail.
The fact they are hands free is also a great bonus as it means the children can still stay safe when walking or running around in these glasses or can hold things and use the magnifying lenses to see even clearer.
The Science Mad! night vision goggles can be used to encourage STEM activities such as comparing the differences between night and day, looking for and learning about nocturnal animals and their habitats and examining the night sky.
However, you will probably find that your child, if anything like mine, is more excited to use them to go on spy missions in the dark and generally just have lots of fun with them.
Overall, we think the Science Mad! night vision goggles are fab. They are light weight and easy to use and would make a great gift for those aged between 6 and 10. They are available now on Amazon along with a whole range of Science Mad! sets but if you’re feeling lucky then why not enter our competition below for your chance to win a pair.
