A a blogger I love getting the opportunity to try new beauty products and was delighted when Dove got in touch and asked me to review their new range. I regularly buy Dove moisturisers and deodorants so I already knew that they would be good products but as I tend to stick to my staple pieces this gave me a great opportunity to try something new.
The new range is called Winter Care and is made up of different types of Dove moisturisers. The set comprises of 3 products; the nourishing lotion, the hand cream and the winter care cream.
All three of these products smell like winter in a bottle. They have a lovely warm fragrance that makes you smile for no reason. They are all prime examples of the standard of product you expect from Dove moisturisers as they are nourishing, rich and luxurious. All three quickly absorb into the skin, replacing the moister often lost in the cold weather, so no need to stand around in the cold waiting for it to dry for ages.
I have been using the nourishing lotion for a week now and it has really helped with the dry skin on my knees and my legs look noticeably smoother. Although all three of these products leave your skin feeling smooth, soft and healthy looking I particularly love the hand cream, as unlike some hand creams it doesn’t leave my hands feeling greasy or wet. I can apply this throughout the day and continue with my work without having to wait for them to dry.
Dove as a brand
Most people will already know how good the Dove products are and wont be surprised by my above review. However not everyone will be as aware of their new self-esteem campaign which I think deserves a mention.
Dove have a vision
“of a world where beauty is a source of confidence, and not anxiety. So, we are on a mission to help the next generation of women develop a positive relationship with the way they look – helping them raise their self-esteem and realize their full potential.”
What a fabulous vision and one I would love to witness in my life time. Unbeknown to most people Dove are working on turning this vision into a reality through a series of projects including training around self-esteem. Another way is to make fabulous products that are affordable, readily available in most supermarkets and chemists, and most importantly, focus on the basics like nourishing skin. Simple yet important aspects of beauty regimes for all ages, look good feel good. So the new Winter Care range of Dove moisturisers definitely gets my seal of approval.
