ToucanBox – A children’s craft subscription box

I am a sucker for an educational activity. Anything that can get my kids learning whilst having fun is an absolute win for me. I am also a sucker for a subscription box and have tried out a few over the years, some for the kids, some for me and even one for the dog! So when I discovered ToucanBox craft subscription boxes for children I knew we just had to give them a try.

Thank you for reading this post, don't forget to subscribe!

What is ToucanBox?

ToucanBox is a selection of framily friendly craft activities delivered to your door. The boxes are full of different things for you to do with your children or grandchildren. They are available in three sizes: petite, grande and super and are priced accordingly.

Our box arrived today and it definitely has the wow factor. I was expecting something a lot smaller, in fact I was expecting something so small it would fit through the letter box . From he minute the ToucanBox arrives it feels exciting as even the box screams craft time as there are things to do on it including colouring it in and completing various puzles.

What’s in the ToucabBox?

Inside the box was two craft activities

all the supplies (except scissors) that we would need,

a piece of paper with additional craft ideas on it,

and the best bit a brand new book that goes along with the theme of the activities, for a book lover like me this was a brilliant surprise.

We opened the first activity and we did run into a little problem, one of the items needed to be put in the freezer for 24 hours. My little boy was devastated as he had wanted to do it there and then so I would highly recommend you check the activities before you round the kids up at the table and tell them it’s craft time. Luckily there was another activity, igloo building, that we could start straight away.

It came with clear instructions and was easy to do. Both children loved getting involved, the best bit for them was using the glue. This activity took us about 45 minutes and was a lot of fun. It also sparked a few good questions from my inquisitive little boy about igloos.

We then read the book and it was a beautiful story called The Polar Bear Paddle that I am sure we will read over and over again.

Final thoughts about the ToucanBox

I love how the opportunity for craft ideas doesn’t simply stop with the included tasks. The creators of ToucanBox have not only used the main box but also the smaller boxes inside can be used to create more fun by following the simple instructions.

These boxes are aimed at children aged 3-8, mine are 2 and 5 and although this was better suited for my five year old, my two year old really enjoyed joining in too. It has provided hours of fun and has given me some great craft ideas that I can do with my children in the future.

These boxes could have so many uses from a monthly delivery at home to being bought especially for a sleepover with the grandparents, to a special treat in the school holidays. It is clear to me that a lot of thought about fun, creativity and education has gone into producing these wonderful boxes that both children and adults can enjoy together.

I would highly recommend these boxes, especially as there are so many benefits of arts and crafts for children, and will most definitely be ordering them during the school holidays. If you love these types of boxes then make sure you read our reviews of the gardening box, Mud and Bloom, and the science related box, The curiosity Box as well as the STEM related weekend box.
